025/2011 a glimpse of gorgeous blue

Momentarily, very briefly, the horizon became unusually blue even though we didn’t see any trace of the sun all day. Actually, haven’t seen the sun for over a week. The blue was somehow reflected through the clouds – very strange. And then it was gone.

I am really deprived of natural colour and light. Wishing my time away, and dreaming of spring and summer. Driving home today, they talked about many Finns now buying second homes in Thailand, where they spend half the year. I can understand why!

Anyway, to end on a happier note – getting this fleeting blue moment today was lovely!

Wow, holiday house in Thailand! I wonder what kind of job would support regular travel to such faraway places. The sunless theme is very familiar in your blog this time of year. Doesn’t seem to get any easier with time. You wouldn’t ever leave Finland though, would you? Lovely sky.

I would like to know who these people are, too, and how they manage it! I read about one young family, who auctioned everything they owned here, and moved to Thailand for some time. Adventurous! As for me leaving Finland, I could very well imagine it. The prospect of cold winter with old achy bones is not very tempting 🙂 We’ll see!

    That is a great shot.

Funny how a blue sky can chase away the blues. Days are noticeably getting longer here – though it is still mainly grey and colourless.

So similar here, but yes, a couple of extra daylight hours already. Waiting for the pitch dark morning drives to school to end.
