035/2011 fascinating flowers

035/2011 fascinating flowers, originally uploaded by rosipaw.

Thanks to my husband’s patient care, our amaryllis, which almost died while we were away for Christmas, came back to life and is blooming beautifully again.

Instead of taking a picture of the whole flaming flower, I got drawn by the little details in the middle, and the pollen on the petal. Wish I had a macro lens!

Wow – even without a macro lens…it’s a great image!

Thank you Sandra! Got to make do with the lenses I have for now.

Amazing the details we find when we look.

Isn’t it Susan? I was just experimenting with all kinds of angles with the flower, and then noticed that I could catch the little details quite nicely – even without the macro lens.
