212/2011 dragonfly

It seems to be the season for many flying insects. A few days ago, the flying ants left their nests in their millions, and the air was absolutely black with them. Now it’s the dragonflies that land in different places in our garden. In the hope of catching a better close-up of their magnificently shiny wings, this was the best I could manage today.

211/2011 the daily dose

211/2011 the daily dose, originally uploaded by rosipaw.

I have become a daily client at a nearby berry booth. I come home with a box of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries each, to stock up with the vitamins for the winter. I and my family just love the fresh summer goodies!

210/2011 today I don’t feel like doing anythin’

Why not just spend the hot day in the garden, reading an entertaining novel, and lazying round? It’s holiday time, after all! Why are we so conditioned to constantly be productive and busy? It’s good to kick the bad conscience at times, and just relax. And even to kick off the flimsiest flip-flops, too, and just walk barefoot!

209/2011 yellow beauty

These unknown yellow flowers arched their heavy tops so beautifully over the pavements that I just had to stop to take a picture. I don’t know if they are wild, or if the town has planted them there, but what a delight they are!

For some reason, my eyes have been drawn by the sky a lot recently. Tonight, for just a brief moment, the horizon turned really pink. Promising another fine day for tomorrow perhaps?

207/2011 blur

Transparent glass may turn into blurry, distorted reflections in certain light. The same happened to my thoughts today. Trying to sit down and start planning school work for next year, I just couldn’t see clearly enough to formulate even one realistic or meaningful goal. Got to start focusing, and gradually shifting the holiday mindset.

206/2011 golden evening light

206/2011 golden evening light, originally uploaded by rosipaw.

The last low rays of the sun reach our garden in the evening, giving the end of the day a golden warmth. Brief, momentary beauty, and a calming effect to bring a good night’s sleep.
