139/2011 blue

Just a snap – waiting to give my husband a ride from his late meeting.

I’ve caught a terrible cold, really feeling low, and still having to do lessons after being away to France last week. I feel as shaken and boring as this picture…

029/2011 yellow and blue

It’s not winter, is it? This make-believe photo helps me feel optimistic and warm. The feathery, backlit petal of the tulip, and the few white clouds in the sky make me free light and carefree.

We are so lucky to be able to enjoy the beauty of all the colours around us. It is so true that what you focus on in your life, seems to increase. I am focusing on colours this weekend, and it does work as an instant mood booster for me!

025/2011 a glimpse of gorgeous blue

Momentarily, very briefly, the horizon became unusually blue even though we didn’t see any trace of the sun all day. Actually, haven’t seen the sun for over a week. The blue was somehow reflected through the clouds – very strange. And then it was gone.

I am really deprived of natural colour and light. Wishing my time away, and dreaming of spring and summer. Driving home today, they talked about many Finns now buying second homes in Thailand, where they spend half the year. I can understand why!

Anyway, to end on a happier note – getting this fleeting blue moment today was lovely!

#36 light at the end of a tunnel

036/365 light at the end of a tunnel, originally uploaded by rosipaw.

I love Friday afternoon and evenings, especially after a crazy, hectic week like this one! Pheww, luckily th emain part of our school clear-out and refurbishment project got more or less completed today, which is a big relief. I will collect the photos of the makeover in this Flickr set.

Getting out of school today, I saw this ragged patch of blue sky breaking through the blanket of grey clouds. Even it if twas visible onlyf or a few minutes, it really heralded a promising start for the weekend. Even some birds were singing, which is a big change after the dead silent mid-winter. It amazes me every year.

The best part of Friday evening is not having to set the alarm for the next morning. I will certainly sleep like a log tonight.
