#355 in the bleak midwinter…

355/365 in the bleak midwinter, originally uploaded by rosipaw.

… frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow…

Shortest day of the year, already getting darker at 1.30 pm on a grey, overcast day! The only consolation on this winter solstice is that from tomorrow on we’ll be moving towards summer and light again, slowly but surely. Yay!

#76 hurry up summer!

076/365 hurry up summer!, originally uploaded by rosipaw.

Got this picture walking down to the sea from my car at my winter swimming place. The sun had just set, but had still left an ever so slight reddish glow in the sky. This hut was there surrounded by snow, totally deserted with a cover of snow on its roof, too. It was all very quiet and still – well, frozen!

I long to see people changing into their swimming costumes inside the hut, children screaming and playing in the water – all free from ice, the sun shining and butterflies fluttering around… I long to see, smell, hear, touch and taste SUMMER! I am tired of winter…
