#94 the chernobyl chicks

094/365 the chernobyl chicks, originally uploaded by rosipaw.

Today was totally grey again, so another indoor picture of Easter decorations.

We plant ryegrass seeds on a plate for Easter every year. It grows in a couple of days, and is a great substitute while we are still waiting for real grass to start turning green outside. These cheap little chicks come out to decorate it year after year, even though poor things are a bit worse for wear by now.

We had a lot of fun again today, laughing at their mangled shapes. My husband came up with the black humour name, thinking that they look like the victims of the nuclear fallout back in the 80s. Holidays are great family times, filled with national and individual traditions – just what we need to unwind from our otherwise busy schedules.
